Question 1

What kind of dog shows and dog sports does ShowPoints support?

Accepted Answer

ShowPoints helps users discover U.S.-based dog shows, trials, competitions, and events across multiple organizations and sports. Discover now includes events from 23 organizations across 32 sports, including AKC, UKC, ASCA, USDAA, NADAC, Barn Hunt, NADD, NASDA, NACSW, CPE, AHBA, and more.

Question 2

How do I find dog shows near me?

Accepted Answer

Use the ShowPoints calendar to search by month, region, or event type. You can filter and assign your dogs to shows that match your schedule.

Question 3

Is there a built-in dog show point calculator?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Input how many dogs were shown to estimate potential AKC championship points based on published point schedules and eligibility rules. Official points are determined solely by AKC after results are processed. ShowPoints is not affiliated or endorsed by any registry, superintendent or kennel club.

Question 4

Can I enter a dog show through ShowPoints?

Accepted Answer

Not yet. We link to entry forms and superintendents, but entries happen through official providers. One-click entry tools may come later.

Question 5

Can I use ShowPoints for performance events?

Accepted Answer

Yes. ShowPoints includes dog shows, trials, competitions, and events across multiple sports, including Fast CAT, rally, obedience, agility, dock diving, scent work, herding, barn hunt, lure coursing, weight pull, and more. You can filter Discover by organization and sport to find the events that fit your plans.

Question 6

Is this made by someone who actually shows dogs?

Accepted Answer

Yes. ShowPoints was created by active exhibitors who understand the challenges—and want better tools for all of us.

Question 7

Does ShowPoints display breed points, all-breed point totals, or performance results?

Accepted Answer

Those totals—used in AKC and Canine Chronicle rankings—are based on licensed show results, which we do not publish. ShowPoints offers tools to help you estimate Champion points, with plans to expand to Grand Champion and All-Breed estimates in the future—and eventually support performance event tracking as well.

Question 8

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Accepted Answer

Everyone starts with a free 7 day free trial through the App Store. You won’t be charged during that time, and you can cancel anytime in your Apple or Google Play settings. After 7 days, your subscription will automatically renew through your App Store account unless you cancel before the trial ends. All billing is handled securely by Apple or Google, not by ShowPoints.

Question 9

Is ShowPoints affiliated with the AKC or a superintendent?

Accepted Answer

No. ShowPoints is an independent app built for dog show exhibitors. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the American Kennel Club, any superintendent, kennel club, or event-giving organization unless specifically stated. Our goal is to help exhibitors participate more easily by making dog show information easier to find, save, and use from their phone. AKC, superintendents, clubs, premium lists, judging programs, and official event pages remain the official sources for final show information.

Question 10

Does ShowPoints replace AKC, superintendents, or kennel clubs?

Accepted Answer

No. ShowPoints is an independent planning app that helps exhibitors organize dog show information and access official sources more easily. Official AKC event pages, superintendent websites, premium lists, judging programs, clubs, and entry services remain the authority for final event details.
