The calculator takes a breed, the show's state and the class and champion counts, and displays the estimated championship and grand championship points each placement would earn, with majors marked. It uses the AKC point schedule in effect on the show date.

Title questions.

Which titles does ShowPoints track?

AKC Champion (CH), Grand Champion (GCH) and its Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum levels, NOHS Levels of Achievement, Certificate of Merit (CM) and Puppy of Achievement. Outside the breed ring: Fast CAT, Scent Work and Junior Showmanship. Agility, obedience, rally and UKC titles are not tracked.

My dog already has points. Can I start from there?

Yes. Enter the starting record from before you used ShowPoints, then add new results as you go. The count picks up where you are.

How does it know which wins were majors?

When you add a result with the number of dogs competing, ShowPoints looks up the AKC points schedule for your breed, sex and the show's state on that date. A win worth 3 or more points is a major.
