ShowPoints 3.0: More Ways to Enjoy Dog Shows and Dog Sports

It started with planning a dog show weekend

If you show dogs, you know how much happens before you walk into the ring.

You’re checking closing dates, looking up judges, comparing last year’s breed entries and waiting for judging programs. If you’re bringing several dogs, you’re also figuring out who needs to be where, and when.

Our founder, owner-handler Matthew Stroud, was keeping track of those details across websites, PDFs, screenshots and notes. He started ShowPoints to bring more of that information together and make participating easier.

Today, the app helps exhibitors find dog shows and trials, save events, follow judges and receive closing-date reminders. When judging programs become available, users can see their dogs’ rings and estimated judging times. They can also keep their own results, notes and virtual ribbon racks in one place.

ShowPoints 3.0 builds on those features with a fresh design and new ways to organize the activities you enjoy with your dogs.

What’s new in ShowPoints 3.0?

Conformation is where ShowPoints began, but exhibitors often enjoy several activities with their dogs. This release adds:

- Scent Work tools to organize qualifying runs by element and level.

- Fast CAT speed charts to see your dog’s recorded speeds over time.

- Junior Showmanship tools to keep placements, wins and goals together.

These tools help users maintain personal records based on the results they enter. Official results and title confirmations remain with the awarding organization.

Find dog shows and dog sports near you

The ShowPoints event calendar includes more than 24,000 shows, trials and events across 32 sports and 24 organizations, including AKC, UKC, USDAA, NASDA and others.

Search for conformation shows, agility, obedience, rally, Barn Hunt, dock diving, herding and more. Filter by distance, date, sport and organization to find opportunities that fit your plans.

Perhaps you’re choosing your next show cluster. Perhaps you want to try a Fast CAT run or find a different activity for another dog in your household. We want ShowPoints to help you discover those possibilities.

Event search covers this broad range of activities, while personal progress tools support the specific AKC disciplines listed on our Sports page.

Helping more people participate

Dog shows and dog sports have brought friendships, experiences and a sense of community into our lives. We want more people to have those opportunities.

For newcomers, that might mean finding a first event and understanding what to expect. For experienced exhibitors, it might mean spending less time searching for information or discovering another activity to enjoy with their dogs.

Our redesigned website includes feature explanations and guides to common dog show questions. We want people to find useful answers, feel more confident about getting involved and keep learning along the way.

Supporting the people who make it possible

Every event depends on organizations, clubs, volunteers, superintendents, show secretaries, judges and many others. Their work creates the opportunities we enjoy with our dogs.

We want ShowPoints to support that work by helping people discover events, find the information they need and make plans to attend. Making participation easier is one practical way we can help support the sport’s future.

That’s the vision behind ShowPoints: more people getting involved, more opportunities to participate and more reasons to come back.
