From Novice to Master.
Juniors start in Novice, move up to Open, then Master. Novice and Open can be split by age: Junior 9 to under 12, Intermediate 12 to under 15, Senior 15 to under 18.
With competition means at least one other junior in the class. A first place won alone still counts if it led to a Best Junior with competition (and, from Sept 17, 2026, a Reserve Best Junior).

Junior questions.
Does my junior need their own account?
No. The parent’s account adds each junior, and juniors don’t sign in. One account can follow more than one junior.
What if my junior shows someone else’s dog?
Add the result with your own dog, someone else’s dog, or no dog at all. Wins follow the junior across every dog they show.
Which goals does ShowPoints track?
One live goal per junior: Novice to Open; Westminster 2027 (7 Best Junior Handler wins, each over at least two competing class winners, at shows from Oct 1, 2025 to Sept 30, 2026); or the AKC National Championship 2026 (5 Open-class first places with competition, Sept 18, 2025 to Sept 15, 2026). For the National Championship, GPA, transcripts and amateur status are listed as also needed, but ShowPoints doesn’t check them.
Does it cover UKC Junior Showmanship?
No. Junior Showmanship tracking follows the AKC regulations only, and UKC age rules differ.
Are the counts official?
No. ShowPoints adds up the results you enter. AKC’s records are the official ones, and ShowPoints is not affiliated with the AKC.
